Fall Float on the Flint

A Two-Day Exploration of the Lower Flint River

For more than a decade, Georgia Rivers has returned to the Lower Flint River for the annual rite of fall. Why? Because it’s one of our favorite stretches of river in the entire state! The two-day, 36-mile canoe/kayak adventure is highlighted by shoal-filled stretches, unique limestone bluffs and beautiful blue hole springs. Wildlife is abundant and the chances for discovering ancient fossils are high. The event features six catered meals, educational programs, and great camping at Rocky Bend Flint River Retreat where private cabins and RV sites are also available. The trip does, however, involve two long days of paddling (about 18 miles each day)–a necessary route to take in all of the river’s beautiful springs! Expect to be on the river 6-9 hours each day, depending on your paddling speed.

Skill Level Required:

This route features mostly flatwater with some shoally sections of fast-moving water. It is suitable for all skill levels from novice to expert.
