SUMMARY:Fall Float on the Flint
DESCRIPTION:A Two-Day Exploration of the Lower Flint River \nFor more than a decade\, Georgia Rivers has returned to the Lower Flint River for the annual rite of fall. Why? Because it’s one of our favorite stretches of river in the entire state! The two-day\, 36-mile canoe/kayak adventure is highlighted by shoal-filled stretches\, unique limestone bluffs and beautiful blue hole springs. Wildlife is abundant and the chances for discovering ancient fossils are high. The event features six catered meals\, educational programs\, and great camping at Rocky Bend Flint River Retreat where private cabins and RV sites are also available. The trip does\, however\, involve two long days of paddling (about 18 miles each day)–a necessary route to take in all of the river’s beautiful springs! Expect to be on the river 6-9 hours each day\, depending on your paddling speed. \nSkill Level Required:\nThis route features mostly flatwater with some shoally sections of fast-moving water. It is suitable for all skill levels from novice to expert. \nRegister\nRegistration fees will be announced mid-summer 2026\, and likely will range from around $200 for youth to $360 for adults. Registration closes Oct. 2 or when full. Registration fees include guide services\, river maps\, shuttle service\, t-shirt or other swag\, boat decal\, six catered meals\, educational programs and camping at Rocky Bend Flint River Retreat with toilets and showers. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN EARLY JULY 2026. \nCLICK HERE for complete information about Fall Float on the Flint. \nApply for a Scholarship:\nA limited number of scholarships to encourage women\, people of color\, recent immigrants and low-income individuals and families to participate are available. Apply for a scholarship HERE! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n
