Want to gain a meaningful relationship with water while becoming a healthier you? Grab your paddle & hit the river! Kayaking can be an awesome way of experiencing nature while exercising at the same time!

Did you know that paddling has not only physical, but also mental benefits? Kayaking at 5 mph burns about 800 calories per hour! Not only that, but with every repetition of paddling, you are toning the muscles in your arms, back, chest, and stomach! You’re going to look good! Kayaking is also associated with stress relief. No office, no electronics, and no traffic. Hey, a bad day of paddling is better than a good day at work!

Go to Georgia River Network’s water trail website find your nearest established or developing water trail, and challenge yourself a little extra to paddle one! Also look at our calendar for GRN events and other local river groups for opportunities to get on your river! Make sure to document your paddle experience, and send your submissions to our Facebook page to be featured as an exceptional participant!
