EVENT DETAILS: We’re going on a mussel hunt in the Coosa River basin of Northwest Georgia! This 13.3-mile paddle explores this river that’s known for its robust population of freshwater mussels as well as interesting navigational structures built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers more than 100 years ago. We’ll begin our trip by dropping our boats at the Ga. 156 boat ramp, and then driving to the Ga. 140 boat ramp to park our vehicles. From there, we’ll shuttle back to our launch site.
