Citizen’s Guide
to Fighting Water Pollution in Georgia
This tool, created by Georgia Center for Law in the
Public Interest, can help citizens achieve the Clean
Water Act’s fundamental goal of protecting our
water resources. It takes you step-by-step through the process of finding out
what type of pollutants are being discharged into your watershed, by whom, whether
they are harmful, and how to develop a strategy to reduce the amount of that
pollution. Click
here.

River Restoration
Restoring Rivers database at www.restoringrivers.org contains over 37,000 stream
restoration projects throughout the United States, with concentrations in
7 regions of the country—California, Central US, Chesapeake Bay, Pacific
Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, and Upper Midwest. Information on these
projects was collected from 2002 to 2004 by a group of stream scientists.

EPD Monitoring Data
EPD can send you data electronically.
Contact Kathy Methier at 404-675-1657 or email kathy_methier@mail.dnr.state.ga.us.
Make your data request as specific as possible. If you want to narrow it down
to counties within the basin or certain parameters, it will make the dataset
more managable. They have data on basic chemical parameters, bacteria, and
two kinds of metal samples.
USGS
Search by HUC. The data
is coded and takes some deciphering, but they have
