Paddle Georgia Lite (June 15-16 Only) 2013 Information:

Paddle Georgia Lite is our abbreviated trip for just the first two days of Paddle Georgia - June 15-16. Participation in Paddle Lite is by invitation only. The deadline to be considered for a Paddle Georgia Lite invitation this year has passed. Invitations will be extended by April 12. A limited number of spaces will be available to our supporters, special guests, and by lottery.  For those who receive an invitation, registration fees will be $65 for children, $85 for seniors/college and $100 for adults. Children 7 and under are free.

If you are an American Canoe Association** member you may present your ACA card during registration on June 14 or 15 to receive a $5 rebate on your registration fee. To become an ACA member visit www.acanet.org. A year’s membership in Georgia River Network is included in all registration fees.

* If requested, registration fees will be refunded to all paddlers who generate more than $550 in Canoe-a-thon pledges to support river protection in Georgia. Meal Registration:
$207 for Full Meals Deal Package when you order at time of registration (breakfast and lunch for seven days and dinner for seven days* including Kick Off Day Feast and River’s End Celebration)—a $12 savings!

Each meal is catered by professional caterers or local civic groups. Expect hearty fare with vegetarian options. Sack lunches include sandwiches (several choices each day), chips, fruit and dessert. All participants will choose their luncheon sandwiches via the meal registration forms. For those who don't want the Full Meals Deal, registration and payment for Pick and Choose Meal package options will take place in April.

**One night, participants will “eat on their own” at local restaurants. The price of this meal is not included in the meal package. Coffee and breakfast tea are not included. A coffee vendor will accompany the trip, and coffee and breakfast tea can be purchased at the event directly from the vendor.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS POSTMARK MAY 17. A $25 LATE FEE APPLIES TO ALL REGISTRATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THIS DAY.

Once You Have Registered:

1. In April, you will receive via e-mail (unless regular mail is requested) a liability waiver form, information about shuttle services, meals, campsites, and other essential trip information.

2. Start raising money for Canoeathon. Get started by visiting First Giving.

 

Paddle Georgia Policies:
For your safety and the safety of others.

  1. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
  2. All participants must attend the pre-launch safety briefing. Participants must adhere to the safety guidelines presented.
  3. Participants must wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device at all times on the river.
  4. Participants under age 18 are the responsibility of, and must be accompanied by, a parent or guardian.
  5. Sorry, no pets allowed.
  6. All participants must sign a Medical and Emergency Contact Information sheet and a Waiver of Claims and Release of Liability form. Parents must sign for children under the age of 18. (These forms will be sent in the info packet after registration.)
  7. Person-powered watercraft only.
  8. All participants must respect private property along the river.
  9. All participants must have basic paddling skills.
  10. No more than 2 children under the age of 12 per adult guardian.
  11. Georgia River Network is not responsible for any personal property that may be lost, damaged, or stolen during the trip.

Violations of these policies can result in the participant being removed from the event without refund.

Refund Policy
Registration, Kick-Off and Trip’s End shuttle, and meal fees may be reimbursed prior to June 1. Refunds will not include reimbursement of processing fees.
